A Brief History
The very first newsletter was published on 13 September 1989. The publication was then called ‘FAX LAKERS NEWSLETTER’ and ran for over 300 editions! It was published in response to requests by staff, students and parents to make the work of Lakers School open to the wider community. The name of the newsletter was changed to ‘LAKERS LINK’ on 05 September 1997 (Edition 1) and has been going from strength to strength ever since!
Our weekly newsletter is published every Friday; it is essential that parents log on to our website to view the latest edition in colour. Paper copies of ‘Lakers Link’ are available upon request, although we encourage our readers to view it on the website where it is posted as printable pages, in order to save paper usage and money. Each week we send out copies to all our Partner Primary Schools and Governors. Our Partner Primary Schools each have a ‘personalised’ edition at Christmas, highlighting past students from their school, with their achievements and how they are progressing at Lakers.
